Young Entrepreneur Incubator

9 Week Session

April 21 - June 19

2 day or 4 day options available

9 am - 3 pm

Ages 6-17

Welcome to the Young Entrepreneur Incubator, where budding business minds come together to learn the ropes of entrepreneurship!

Students will explore the question: How do we solve a problem and make money doing it?

Creating a future-focused, innovative idea, product or service that has the potential to become a profitable business venture. Shark Tank Innovation is a project-based learning challenge that incorporates the 4 Cs; Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication.

Students will demonstrate the skills through developing an innovative project as an entrepreneur using the scientific method and persuasive techniques by preparing a pitch and business/marketing campaign for the innovation. The Shark Panel will judge and review presentations and innovations.

Next up, we will dive into all the pieces of putting this business together, developing branding, running it through profit and loss statements and then showcasing its success at our very own Apogee Business Fair!

Your questions answered...

Do we have to commit to the whole session?

A big focus at Apogee Cincinnati is intentionally building community. In order to do that, we want to limit the comings and goings, and have time together as a group. Our sessions have ongoing projects, and end with a showcase, so it is important that students are present regularly in order to learn, prepare, and create a presentation that they are proud of. Obviously, we understand that sometimes absences are necessary, but would love to have everyone present as much as possible!

What does the day look like?

We start the day with goal setting and gratitude, then move our bodies with intentional exercise. Movement improves focus and memory, so it helps us get into the right mindset to work and think! After PE, we have a block of project work time, during which we will have discussions, research, brainstorm, and do whatever needs to be done towards completing projects.

We break for lunch followed by an hour of outdoor exploration before we dive back into another project work session. We end our day with an afternoon meeting to celebrate our achievements and consider improvements, clean up our space, and then go home to tell our families all about it!

Are parents expected to stay?

Nope! This is a drop off program. There are no requirements for parents to stay or volunteer. We'll take care of everything. If you have a desire or need to stay, please reach out directly to discuss.

Can parents contribute?

Yes! We bring in outside vendors and volunteers when specialized skills and experiences are necessary and/or helpful. If you have something you'd like to offer, please reach out to erika@apogeecincinnati.com and we can discuss.

What is the cost?

We have made an effort to make this offering as affordable as possible. If you need some sort of payment plan, please reach out.
