At Apogee Cincinnati, our children learn in a collaborative classroom of multi-age learners. Our flexible approach challenges each student with their own differentiated learning plan and inspires them through real-world projects and experiences. Our student driven community puts children at the center of their learning, allowing them to create and maintain personal goals and classroom contracts.
We aim to develop young leaders and their families, equipping them to do life well. Using an innovative approach to holistic education, we combine elements of Socratic learning, hands-on experiential projects, and interactive technology, creating a lively learning environment that feels more like an adventure than school.
Our program is structured around 7 project-based sessions from September to June. Each session lasts 5-6 weeks with a 1 week break between each session. This allows time for our young leaders to reset, integrate, and return excited and refreshed for the next session. This also provides quality family time throughout the year.
We are neither a private nor public school. We are a full-time enrichment program for homeschool families. Parents are the primary educators and utilize our program and facility to further equip, train, and prepare their young learners to excel at life in the 21st century.
We are a family leadership academy that offers every parent the opportunity to join Apogee Man or Apogee Woman, a 12-month intensive self-development program aimed at upleveling in every area of their lives - marriage, family, relationships, finances, faith, and fitness.
We will have some flexibility for parents that want to still partially homeschool or have more time with their children, but also can accommodate parents that need to work full time. Our regular school hours will be Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Fridays will be optional enrichment days. Approximately every 6 weeks, we will have a week off so that students can rest and replenish, but we will also offer optional week long enrichment camps during those weeks.
At this time, we are offering our 4 day program with optional enrichment.
Homeschooling families will have the option to join in our enrichment Fridays or week-long camps during our weeks off. However, Apogee Cincinnati students will be given priority for available spaces in those programs before we offer it to the public.
Attached is a sample schedule of our day. While this is subject to some flexibility, depending on the needs of the day and week, this is generally what a day might look like. Age groups will have an age-appropriate schedule of activities.
We are being intentional about prioritizing movement and having multiple blocks of movement before any intensive brain work. Research shows that movement improves memory and ability to focus for up to 3 hours.
Students will have options for how they want to engage with their core academic areas, and we will work together with them to build engaging, individualized options. Project work will be collaborative.
Yes. Here is a projected calendar for the year.We will begin during the first week of September and finish during the last week of June. We have 7 sessions throughout the year, lasting 5-6 weeks each.
Between each session is a 1-week reset for our young heroes, providing ample opportunity for quality family time. This allows our young heroes to reset and return energized and recharged for the next session. Our goal is to maintain an atmosphere of excitement about learning, giving the program more of a camp feel.
We will have a full-time coaching staff that will facilitate learning in our studios.
There will be volunteer opportunities for parents, which will be communicated in coming months, but the primary responsibility of running our classes rests on our highly capable Apogee Cincinnati coaching staff.
We will not likely have scholarships available for our first year 2024-25. But, as we build a scholarship and endowment fund, founding families will have first access to these scholarship opportunities.
We do have some creative solutions to help you supplement your tuition payments. Please inquire for further information.
For this first year, founders Erika (veteran teacher) and Joshua (veteran coach) will be leading the school. Depending on enrollment, we may hire an assistant coach. Please feel free to reach out with interest.
